The role
The Senior MEAL Advisor will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating and supporting world-class Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems and practices across Save the Children's international programmes.
The post-holder is a key member of the International Programmes team, and will work across the organisation to support the rolling out of an integrated MEAL approach, to help continually improve the quality of our programing for children.

Qualifications and experience
  • Extensive Monitoring and Evaluation experience, including working within a complex matrixed organisation, and ideally in both development and emergency contexts.
    • Strong practical experience in project/program monitoring and evaluation (preferably field-based)
    • Experience working with multiple countries and/or organization headquarter units on MEAL issues
    • Knowledge of and experience with a range of MEAL tools and techniques
  • Experience in strengthening the demand for data and facilitating the use of information in the decision-making process at different levels - from the facility and programmatic level up to the national level
  • Demonstrable experience in capacity building, of delivering trainings and workshops
  • Proven track record of implementing simple, effective monitoring systems; including experience in data collection and management
  • Cultural awareness, with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching
  • Able to build personal networks at field and senior levels.
  • Flexible working style
  • Willingness to travel in developing countries (varying, but expected to be 40% of time)
