ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities
Build technical capacity of PO leaders and extension agents in assessment of existing feeds used by farmers and other available feeds that can be introduced and disseminated.
Support mobilization of farmers into working groups that are targeted by the project in testing various feed technologies.
Identify and build partnerships with key stakeholders in specific areas of operation that have high potential for helping dairy farmers to adopt new feed technologies.
Raise awareness on Climate Smart Agriculture in relation to dairy and feeding through organizing and conducting field days, demonstrations and farmer meetings.
Assist and participate in research work that will enhance availability of improved feeds and fodder.
Represent WAC during cluster meeting.
Build technical capacity of Producer organization leaders, extension agent, farmers’ trainers and farmers.
Work closely with other EADD partner.
Backstop the CCAFs project deliverables.
Support and contribute to fundraising initiatives.
Contribute to science by publishing articles and manuals.
Skill set Bachelor of Science in agricultural and livestock production sciences, natural resources management, or business administration.
A Bachelor’s degree will be an added advantage
At least three (3) years of work in his or her area of expertise. Past experience working in the dairy sector, agricultural or livestock extension, development of agricultural enterprises and promotion of fodder shrubs and herbaceous legumes will be added advantage.
